2021-12-10

At 22:00 on December 10, 2021, after 118 hours of day and night construction, "Runneng 168" successfully completed the main cable laying task of Guangdong Huadian Yangjiang Qingzhou III 500MW Offshore Wind Power Project!

"Runneng 168" returns triumphantly

Huadian Yangjiang Qingzhou III Offshore Wind Power Project is located in the sea area near Shapa Town, Yangxi County, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. The sea area of the wind field is about 81.03 km2, the water depth ranges from 41m to 46m, and the shortest distance from the wind field to the shore is about 55km. The project plans to have 67 units Wind turbines, of which 37 are 6.8MW, 30 are 8.3MW, and the installed capacity is 500MW. At the same time, a 220KV offshore step-up station and an onshore GIS centralized control center are built. "Runneng 168" mainly undertakes the second bid of this project: the task of laying the main cable of the east-west loop of the section. The route length of the 220kV submarine cable from the onshore centralized control center to the offshore step-up station is about 74 kilometers, with 2 loops.

Huadian Yangjiang Qingzhou III Offshore Wind Farm

This project is currently an offshore wind power project in China that is extremely far from the shore with extremely deep water depth, and has a very short operating window in winter. The contractor (PowerChina Guizhou Engineering Co., Ltd.) discussed and optimized the construction plan and process flow. With the strong support and full guarantee of the owner and the general contractor, all work was carried out in an orderly manner. The project site was cross-winded and cross-current, the wind force was 8, the gust was 9, and the swell was as high as 4 meters. It was very difficult to pull the submarine cable to the step-up station. The various departments of the ship and the project team conducted many discussions, formulated a plan to stabilize the ship's position against wind and waves, prepared an emergency plan, and used tugboats to cruise and guard. The company dispatched elite crew to prepare for the step-up station pullout. This operation is the debut of the first submarine cable laying of "Runneng 168". According to the company's arrangement, the construction personnel are reasonably allocated, and various operations and safety training, fire rescue, emergency plans and other exercises before construction are carried out, and each laying cable is debugged. According to the arrangement of the project team, a mobilization meeting was held, and everyone was kept on standby at all times.

Mobilization meeting before construction

On November 18, "Runneng 168" began to install the cable at the special dock of Orient Cable. On the 24th, the cable installation and test were completed and the vessel went south. When passing through the Taiwan Strait, it encountered strong cold air and resisted the wind at Dayu Mountain Anchorage. After analyzing the sea conditions, the towage headquarters decided to seize the short-term sailing window in the Taiwan Strait and safely arrived at the step-up station of Huadian Yangjiang Qingzhou III Offshore Wind Farm on December 5. In order to ensure the completion of the construction task, according to the study by the company's leaders, the owner and the general contractor urgently dispatched helicopters to transport materials and personnel according to the on-site sea conditions that did not meet the conditions for transporting personnel and materials to the step-up station, and made every effort to ensure the work of boarding the step-up station.

Helicopter transport of personnel and supplies

"Runneng 168" arrived at the step-up station on the 6th. The ship rolled 7 degrees left and right, and the swell rushed to the deck. "Runeng 168" opened the DPII to fight against the wind and waves to stabilize the ship's position, and carried out the traction and pulling of the submarine cable into the J-shaped pipe. The anchoring of the submarine cable was completed on December 7, the ship left the position, and began the laying of the submarine cable. At 22:00 on December 10, the submarine cable was laid to the predetermined coordinates, and the submarine cable laying task was efficiently completed.

Day and night construction

During the construction of "Runneng 168", the leaders of the Holding Company are always concerned about it. Whether it is staffing or logistics and material support, it is the leaders of each functional department of the company who take the lead in setting an example and put everything into practice.

The Chairman of the Company boarded the ship to supervise

"Runneng 168" is an advanced large-tonnage cable-laying ship in China. This laying made full use of the DPII system to control the position of the ship, and successfully completed the laying task of the first submarine cable of this ship. At the same time, it showed the ship performance of "Runneng 168" and the combat effectiveness of the construction team in deep waters and harsh sea conditions. After the project is put into operation, it can provide the society with 1.505 billion kWh of clean electricity every year, save 461,500 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 435,500 tons, ash by 14,300 tons, and smoke by 14.60 tons.

In the extremely harsh sea conditions of the northeast monsoon climate, "Runneng 168" can still complete the task excellently. This honor belongs to all Green people, who have created miracles! This is not only a breakthrough and innovation of ourselves, but also will lay the foundation for the further cooperation of cable laying projects with "Runneng 168", so that the owner and the general contractor can trust Green Ocean more, and create a good industry reputation for Green Ocean, Green Ocean will surely create greater glories again!
